Curb yo' shoppin'!

Recently, I've set myself a shopping ban, which I broke within two weeks.

Which I think. we can all agree is pretty bad.

To be honest, I know I own too many "things" I don't need, namely clothes, but the urge to buy is too hard resist. My wardrobe is literally so full I cannot cram any more things into it. Plus, the cupboards and suitcases....

What I'm trying to say is that nowadays it's hard to save because of all that's on offer and the constant bombardment of adverts and images of aspirations you should have and things you should own. In the end, I'm never going to use all of this "stuff" and it's all going to waste. So, I'm planning to donate some clothes to charity, clear up some space and go cold turkey on the spending.

And whenever I think I'm going to give in, this mantra will kick in in my mind.

This quote is actually so true, it hurts.

Review: Vichy Normaderm Moisturiser

Last year and this year have both been f*ckinh stressful to the extent that I used to have madly oily patches and breakouts on my face. Even though the stress factor is still there more than ever, the spots are minimal and my skin is overall a lot more balanced.

This could be down to many factors but I do believe that my improved skin routine helped.

This time last year, I never really used moisturiser on my skin because I thought "I don't need more moisture on my face, it's too oily already!" However, after I got my new job, I decided I really needed to care for my skin more and "invest" in some moisturiser. I use the term invest quite loosely because this moisturiser is quite middle range but still more expensive than your normal supermarket brands.

It promises a lot such as evening out skin tone, preventing spots, closing pores etc but like all skin care, it's just some cream, it's never going to work miracles on its own. I did notice that my pores have shrunken a little, especially on my nose. Because of this, it is a little drying, which is really what I needed on my T-zone, but not the rest of my face, which I had to buy another moisturiser for.

Final verdict: Happy with the product, would purchase again.
Dislaimer: This was bought with my own money and opinions are my own.

Saw this on souncloud and felt that it had be a feature on my blog. Ohmagawd I used to listen to this when I was 10. So, so wrong.....

Not like the movies.

I think films have distorted my view of reality.

When something big happens in real life it takes me a very, very long time to process  the true seriousness behind it.

As if I have to pinch myself and say "This time, it might not be okay. Everything is real. You're not going to be able to just look away or switch channel. This isn't a film, it's real life."

But until it sinks in, I'll just keep pinching myself.

So, what have I been up to?

Recently I've joined a site that sends out free samples in return for reviews and publicity. It seems like a good way to try out new products and brush up on my writing skills.

The only bad thing about it is that you have to wait to be invited to do a "campaign" which can take up to months. The way they select people is based on whether you fit their criteria and points you collect once you complete a campaign for them, which might I add is rather unfair because if like me, you are new, will not be on the top of their list even if you are very willing to spend time and effort in reviewing items and promoting them.

I feel it is only fair that I give out publicity when they give me something back in return so for now I will not be mentioning the name of the company but finger crossed, I will get onto a campaign soon and be able to write some more reviews.

In other news, I've been watching a LOT of TV. Mainly catching up on old adventure time I've missed. I don't even care if I get judged for watching cartoons because it's too effing good.
Gotta luff her lumps.

Also I've been watching some good films shown on TV. The best film I've seen this week must be Inglorious Bastards . It's an amazing film and I thoroughly recommend it to anyone who has not seen it. But seriously though, some of the scenes were so tense I felt like I was gonna chew my nails off.

Product Review: Nivea Daily Essentials Double Effect Eye Makeup Remover

I feel like a sheep joining in on the hype of "beauty blogging", but in reality, I'm truly so bored there is nothing better to do.

I am the type of person who usually does research before buying beauty products mainly because I have so much but use so little so I'm trying to only buy what I need. So, I figured why not contribute a little to other people who may do the same thing as me.

Anyway, here we go.

This is actually a really, really fun/awkward product to use. Why? Because it has two phases, so you have to shake it vigorously. Key word being vigorous.

The first few times I used it, it was really greasy because I didn't realise how hard you actually had to shake it.

Then one day, I had a stressful day at work and saw my ex with a new girlfriend, so naturally my blood was boiling I wasn't the happiest of bunnies. So when I went to take off my makeup, I shook it with all my might. Then, it happened. It mixed completely. And I became stress free.

And that's as about exciting as it gets because it leaves a weird greasy film so I have to use a cotton round to remove the makeup remover.

Final Verdict: Does the job so I'll finish it, but won't buy again because of greasiness(and needlessly wasting my precious cotton rounds).
disclaimer:This was bought by my own money so I'm just writing about exactly what thought.
